From March 13-19, Hawaii Island police arrested 25 motorists for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Seven of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. One of the drivers was under age 21.
From March 13-19, Hawaii Island police arrested 25 motorists for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Seven of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. One of the drivers was under age 21.
So far this year, there have been 280 DUI arrests compared with 251 during the same period last year, an increase of 11.6 percent.
There have been five fatal crashes this year, resulting in five fatalities.
DUI roadblocks and patrols will continue island wide.
